Kythnos Hiking resumes tours 13 July after Greek island virus checks; two slideshows

x Flights to Greece available from nearly all of Europe from 1 July
x Greek island tourism to start 1 July; health protocols in place
x Two slideshows highlight Kastro Orias, sea kayak, snorkel activities

Kythnos Hiking (www.kythnoshiking.com) will resume its walking tours on the Greek island from Monday 13 July by which time air flights from most European countries will be operating and after we have checked that health protocols in island hotels, bars and taverna are operating smoothly.

Our latest two slideshows showcase our walk to the ruined Byzantine Kastro Orias on a spectacular headland (here) and the beach activities we offer in middle-of-the-day breaks in the hot months of the year. These activities consist of sea kayak, snorkel and beach massage (here).

We believe mask-free walking with at least 2-metre separation will be safe, based on industry guidelines, while visits to bars and taverna will require 1-metre social distancing and masks when not eating or drinking, We will check at the start of July the hygiene in outlets and the availability of sanitizer.

Flights from most European countries to Greece are now available with varying levels of coronavirus testing on arrival, mostly random. Arrivals from some destinations require 100 percent testing and self-isolation for 24 hours while awaiting the test result; 14 days quarantine if you test positive.

Flights are not permitted from the UK or Turkey at present and Greece will review this ban at the end of June.

We believe that if the virus continues to abate across Europe there will an easing for travellers and more flexibility from the Greek authorities on testing. All the same guests should not travel if they have any symptoms of the virus. Our first priority, as always, is the health and safety of guests.

July and August will be hot and walking will aim to start early, finish at end-afternoon, and take a long midday pause for optional water sports. We will take bookings on www.kythnoshiking.com up to the end of October.
