Kythnos Hiking (www.kythnoshiking.com) is organising its 6-day spring nature tour on the Greek island to start on 27 March, an ideal time to see exotic flowers such as a variety of orchids and fritillaries, as well as the migratory bird season.
Greek naturalist David Koutsogiannopoulos, author of the Kythnos Nature Guide and his own site (www.naturagraeca.com), will lead the tour identifying the best locations to see the flowers, birds and other species. Full sample programme here.
The tour will involve a minimal amount of walking and mostly minibus transfers to wildlife sites. The tour includes a morning boat trip around the northern part of the island to view sea birds and maybe rare monk seals which are around Kythnos.
The tour price of 790 euro per person includes the ferry to Kythnos, with possible sightings of dolphins, accommodation in island capital Hora, the boat trip, all transfers in the minibus, breakfast, dinner, and the guiding of Koutsogiannopoulos.
Details of the successful March 2022 nature tour can be found with this link including with pictures of the top 12 finds made on the tour. We believe our prices are very competitive with major nature operators running these type of tours.
Booking for this tour is on the website and requires a 20 percent deposit. Guests who want a single room pay a supplement of 200 euro. Prices will remain unchanged into 2023. Proper hiking tours will start on 3 April and run until end-October.
